What is a Pilates Instructor actually?

A Pilates Instructor is responsible for instructing clients in how to perform the art of Pilates.

Kara Mayer Robinson describes Pilates as a workout:

“It’s demanding, but it’s not the kind of workout that always works up a sweat. It’s all about concentration and breathing. But you’ll definitely feel it in your muscles during each exercise.”

What are the Responsibilities of a Pilates Instructor?

A Pilates teacher first needs to have an in-depth knowledge of anatomy so that they can tailor-make their clients’ workouts according to the specific needs.

“Pilates classes focus on strength, muscle toning, body control, and flexibility, with the main emphasis being core strength. Pilates is a disciplined practice that needs to be done on a regular basis to provide benefit … On the other hand, Yoga focuses on flexibility and broad muscle groups. It offers balance, endurance, strength, spirituality, and some really physical movement.”
